Scott became a Certified Canadian Counsellor in 2017; He completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Masters of Counselling Degree from the University of Lethbridge. Scott is also an active member of the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP). Scott became a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists in April 2019.
Scott has extensive work experience with youth, adults, groups, and families in residential programs, community-based programs and school settings. Working with individuals, as well as their families, has provided him with a genuine appreciation for the human will to persevere. Scott is very passionate about his work with others, and he considers it an incredible responsibility to assist those who are in search of their own personal growth and development.
Scott believes that by working collaboratively with individuals, meaningful goals and interventions can be established that empower them to explore the possibilities that exist in their lives to maximize their personal growth. Scott practices with a strength-based, culturally sensitive approach and integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
For enjoyment, Scott spends time with his family and friends, snowboarding, coaching and travelling to tropical locations.
